The perfect juxtaposition to the street-art embellished grunge-y laneway, Tonka is modern, sexy and sophisticated. As you enter, you’ll walk past the bustling kitchen and sneak a peek at the amazing dishes streaming from there. Once seated, the sommelier will gladly recommend a tipple to complement your meal. I recommend starting with the soft shell crab pakora, and the insanely delicious tandoori quail. Then for a main that will not disappoint, try the duck korma with apple and vanilla spiced beetroot. It arrives on the bone but falls off easily, you’d be wise to shred it into your salad and devour with gusto.
