Tucked away on the fourth floor of The Strand Arcade, Pendolino is the fine dining counterpart to wine bar La Rosa (they are situated at either end) and both ooze Italian charm. A dining experience here starts with the plentiful Champagne cart and ends with a box of heavenly chocolate truffles, wheeled over on a similar trolley. In between, you can make the most of menu that enshrines classic dishes such as braised pork belly, slow-cooked ‘British’ beef and home-made pasta cooked to perfection. I can vouch for the house ravioli — a simple combination of artisan cheese, burnt butter and sage.
