SAN FRANCISCO.

Japantown.

Spend an afternoon in Japantown and experience the district’s eclectic and quirky vibe.

Forgo the token Chinatown visit and instead give the lower profile Japantown some love. While it used to be a vast and rather forlorn district, the recent years have been kind and there’s loads of fun to be found here. Your first stop should be New People; it’s a glass-walled ultra-modern shrine to all things concerned with Japanese pop culture, complete with café, cinema, SUPERFROG art gallery and various boutiques stocking eclectic finds that are sure to provoke a few hoots from friends and family back home.
