Located in the front of the iconic Eichardt’s Private Hotel is the deliciously cosy Eichardt’s Bar. A Queenstown institution since 1867, Eichardt’s has been serving aprés ski cocktails and wine to some of the town’s most colourful characters for well over a hundred years. With previous incarnations as a pub, tavern, bawdy house and nightclub, Eichardt’s found its true calling in 2001 thanks to the delightful interior design skills of Virginia Fisher.
A crackling fireplace and large sumptuous sofa seating that over looks Lake Wakatipu, make this place one of the undeniable gems of the Queenstown township. Settle in for pre or post dinner cocktails accompanied by a selection of delicious dishes from the tapas menu, and you will no doubt find it difficult to ever leave. Luckily for you then Eichardt’s is also a luxury boutique hotel.
