It’s very hard to go past a long leisurely lunch at Amisfield winery. The fantastic views over Lake Hayes, a sun drenched courtyard, the well executed menu featuring the very best of local produce, and the award winning wines all combine to make for a truly special afternoon. A favourite with the locals, the restaurant is widely regarded as one of the best winery restaurants in the country. The menu offers a la carte options or, for the more adventurous, the “Trust the Chef” set menu where you’ll be served a selection of dishes that represent the best available seasonal produce on the day. No visitor to Amisfield should leave without stocking up on their rare-as-hen’s-teeth wines from the cellar door. The pinot gris is a particular favorite.
