The latest to join Cuba Street’s ample contingent of stand out eateries, Loretta is an immense establishment serving up a simple series all-day eats from breakfast to dinner. On the counter there’s an array of sweet delights from the perfect ginger and caramel cake to the superior sticky apricot brioches that are the perfect accompaniment to a mid-morning coffee. The menu doesn’t dilly dally offering a single dish under each category – ‘a pie’, ‘pasta’, ‘fritters’ or the ‘eggs’ that change daily with the exception being a series of pizzas. Not one to go past the croque madame, the ensuing meal was served simply on it’s own in a bonafide rendition of the indulgent French delicacy.
