While the perceived hectic nature of Thailand may not make it the first choice for a tropical family holiday, the island of Koh Kood remains as it always has been; untamed jungle, pristine beaches and fishermen going about their business. Soneva Kiri was designed with a vision to create an incredibly special haven for children, where 24 of the largest resort villas in the world and 11 private residences, are vast in scale. A giant bamboo moulded playground in the shape of a manta ray plays host to childrens’ imaginations, where they learn to play Thai instruments and are encouraged to be creative. And then there’s the endless and exciting family activities – from the renowned treetop dining pod experience, the outdoor cinema overlooking the picturesque reservoir lagoon, family oriented cooking classes, an ice cream parlour, to the observatory and marine experiences that take advantage of the resort’s sublime surroundings. A short one hour flight from Bangkok, this has all the makings of one very special family holiday.
