Housed within a heritage Art Deco building constructed in 1939, the newly opened Primus Hotel in Sydney’s Pitt Street is set to become the perfect temporary home to tourists in search of history, culture and sophistication. The building housing the new 5-star hotel has been reinvigorated by leading global architecture and design practice Woods Bagot. Paying careful attention to preserving the building’s original decorative detailing including the eight metre tall red Scagliola columns in the lobby, ceramic tiling and solid timber panelling, the design successfully marries the old with the new.

To counteract its period-precise confines, the hotel’s impressive interior is chic and contemporary, peppered with elegant touches of splendour that add a true sense of luxury. Comprising 172 beautifully appointed guest rooms spanning over six floors, a presidential suite, ballroom, rooftop infinity pool and a lounge bar with views of the changing Sydney skyline, as well as a destination restaurant and bar, there’s no further temptation needed to make a reservation at this exciting new hotel.
