As you would expect from the intoxicatingly cool surf town of Sayulita, Tierra Viva charms with its laid back approach to serving up delicious Tex-Mex fare. You can’t go past the lightly fried calamari served with garlic lime mayo – the sort of thing you should endeavour to eat on every day of your visit. And while the beef botana, a house marinated flank steak prepared over the ambers of mesquite wood and served with corn chips, queso and pico de gallo is the house specialty for a reason, there are plenty of vegan and vegetarian options too.
